Prof. Navigli is General Chair of ACL 2025!

Roberto Navigli, Professor of Artificial Intelligence at Sapienza University of Rome and mind behind Italy's national Large Language Model Minerva, has been appointed Chair of the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL 2025). The prestigious event will take place in Vienna from July 27 to August 1, bringing together over 6,000 scientists and industry leaders in Natural Language Processing. “This international recognition of one of our faculty members,” said Rector Antonella Polimeni, “highlights Sapienza’s long-standing tradition in the field of artificial intelligence — a commitment further strengthened by the release of the Minerva LLM and the launch of one of Italy’s first dedicated AI degree programs.” The news has appreaed in many news agencies:
